Velvet Caravan in concert with Annie Sellick: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14; Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St.; $25-$45 at lucastheatre.com. Savannah’s beloved gypsy jazz and Latin swing band Velvet Caravan will be joined by renowned jazz vocalist Annie Sellick. Atlanta’s balkan band, Mercury Orkestar, will open the night.
Savannah Philharmonic season opener, “Fire & Spirit”: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22; Lucas Theatre for the Arts, 32 Abercorn St.; $25-$125; savannahphilharmonic.org. The Savannah Philharmonic opens its 10th anniversary season with an homage to the past, as they revive the first concert the orchestra ever performed. The opening night will include a world premiere of “Ten” By Richard Sortomme, and two pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love: 8 p.m. Sept. 22; Tybee Post Theater, 10 Van Horne Ave.; $20-$25; tybeeposttheater.com. The Sapphire Bullets, a rhythm & blues big band, have been rocking Savannah for over 25 years, playing favorites from Steely Dan, Toto, Tower of Power, James Brown and more.

Savannah Jazz Festival: Sept. 23-29; Savannah Historic District and Forsyth Park; free; savannahjazzfest.com. This year marks the 37th annual Savannah Jazz Festival, a free week-long music festival featuring regional, national and international world-class jazz. Headliners include legendary pianist and keyboardist Chuck Leavell, who has performed with the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and the Allman Brothers Band.
Savannah Stopover and Graveface Records present JEFF the Brotherhood: 8 p.m. Oct. 5; Starland Dairy, 5 W. 40th St.; $15; ticketfly.com. The Nashville rockers return to Savannah and have just announced a new album, single and fall tour dates.

Punk Mess 3: Oct. 11-13; Starland District; $20-$45; eventbrite.com. The third Punk Mess will be held entirely in the Starland District, and will feature over 30 bands, from the deep underground to the edge of mainstream, pop-punk to hardcore.
