Have you seen Kamiyah?
A podcast by The Florida Times-Union
July 10, 1998 held so much promise for Shanara Mobley. The birth of her daughter, Kamiyah, gave the teen a chance to make her troubled life right. But in a matter of hours, it all went so wrong. When a woman in scrubs walked out of a Florida hospital, Shanara's future was tucked into her purse. Baby Kamiyah was gone. Almost 20 years later, police announced a major break in the kidnapping case. Would it bring Kamiyah back to her mother?
On the 20th anniversary of the abduction of Kamiyah Mobley from a Jacksonville hospital, the Times-Union and jacksonville.com present a new podcast, “Have You Seen Kamiyah?”
The serial podcast, a first for the Times-Union, retells the kidnapping of Kamiyah and search for the missing newborn, offering new insights into the case from key figures, including interviews with Kamiyah’s mother, Shanara Mobley, then-Sheriff Nat Glover and others, as well as details from court documents and trial testimony.
