Lee County pass rusher Desmond Evans has game-changing skills

Desmond Evans was already a major college football recruiting target when Steve Burdeau became his head coach at Lee County High School in May 2018.

“I knew he was a talent,’’ Burdeau said. “Everybody can see the 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, long arms … everyone can see that. He fit the prototypical model if you were drawing up an outside linebacker or defensive end.

“But what I noticed about him watching film before I met him was the effort he plays with. He was making plays from sideline to sideline. You can’t teach effort. That’s a want-to thing. And he definitely has that.’’
